Former defender Bacary Sagna has strongly criticized the decision to move on from world-class talent. He stated that nudging stars of such high caliber toward the exit door is an act of self-sabotage.

Sagna specifically pointed to the departures of prominent figures Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Sergio Ramos, arguing that losing players of that stature actively harms a club's own chances.
