During the fourth week of the college football season, ESPN television host Rece Davis acknowledged that he actively rooted against Michigan in favor of Iowa. Speaking on his podcast, the broadcaster explained that his preference was driven entirely by a desire to secure the network's pregame broadcast for a subsequent matchup in Iowa City.
Because the Hawkeyes secured the win over the Wolverines, the program is scheduled to broadcast live from Iowa City for the first time in over twenty years ahead of the game against Ohio State.
The upcoming matchup between Iowa and Ohio State is scheduled to air live on CBS with a kickoff time set for 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the live morning pregame broadcast will begin at 9 a.m. Eastern Time from the campus site.
Davis emphasized that his rooting interest stemmed from professional logistics rather than personal team loyalty, ensuring the weekly traveling program landed a major Big Ten contest.
