Zoe Harrison rescued victory for England by intercepting a late pass and scoring a decisive try in the eighty-first minute to defeat New Zealand twenty-six to nineteen at Allianz Stadium. The dramatic finish allowed John Mitchell's squad to avoid a second consecutive draw after opening scores from Claudia Moloney-MacDonald, Ellie Kildunne, and Jess Breach answered earlier tries by Amy du Plessis, Ayesha Leti-I'iga, and Mererangi Paul under newly appointed head coach Whitney Hansen.
