England ease to T20 series win over Sri Lanka

England wrapped up an unassailable 2-0 lead in their three-match Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka following a comfortable six-wicket triumph in Cardiff. After being put in to bat by home skipper Harry Brook, Sri Lanka posted 56 during the initial powerplay but collapsed to 145-9, led only by Pathum Nissanka's 37.

Player-of-the-match Liam Dawson turned the momentum by removing Lahiru Udara for 21 via a Jamie Overton catch at long-on before immediately dismissing Kamil Mishara off his own bowling, ending with figures of 3-32, while Jofra Archer claimed a pair of dismissals in the final over.

England wasted little time in the chase, racing to 79-3 after seven overs before completing the pursuit with almost eight overs left unplayed at Sophia Gardens. Jos Buttler contributed a 16-ball 30 to reach a career milestone of 15,000 runs in the format, Brook added 23 from eight deliveries, and Tom Banton spearheaded the finish with an unbeaten 52 off 24 balls featuring four maximums.
