The American Athletic Conference handed out weekly volleyball accolades this week, with East Carolina and South Florida leading the way in standout performances. Aulie Huff, the senior outside hitter for East Carolina, dominated offensively, posting a .458 hitting percentage and averaging 5.07 points per set across two wins.
Her consistency was on full display with 15 kills in a sweep of UAB and another 15 kills in a four-set victory over Memphis. Meanwhile, Taryn Gilreath, East Carolina’s junior setter, delivered a masterclass in precision, averaging 11.14 assists per set and logging a 36-assist, 10-dig double-double in the UAB win.
South Florida’s freshman sensation, Paula Tomasa, also made an impact, averaging 4.13 points per set and contributing 10 kills and seven digs in a sweep of Charlotte, while adding 18 kills in a hard-fought five-set loss to Tulane. UTSA’s Ledisi Kpea earned defensive honors after setting a program record with 14 blocks in a five-set match against Wichita State, including three solo blocks, following a strong week that included seven total blocks in a sweep of UNT.
