Canadiens host the Sharks after Caufield's 2-goal game

The Montreal Canadiens head into their matchup against the San Jose Sharks following a recent overtime triumph over the Buffalo Sabres. That dramatic win featured strong contributions from a high-priced core group including Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Juraj Slafkovsky, with Caufield coming off a two-goal performance.

Meanwhile, the Sharks arrive looking to reverse ongoing struggles in the final period of regulation, having recently dropped a shootout decision to the Detroit Red Wings. San Jose is also managing roster updates involving Yaroslav Askarov and Luca Cagnoni, alongside tactical commentary from Montreal bench boss Martin St-Louis regarding his squad's difficulty wrapping up contests before overtime.
