Dream night for Bournemouth - win over Milan a sign of Premier League power

Bournemouth pulled off a stunning three-goal victory against AC Milan in only their third European match, continuing a remarkable rise from the lower tiers fifteen years prior. Justin Kluivert opened the scoring, echoing his father Patrick's historic feat decades earlier against the same Italian opponent.

The milestone night unfolded despite the hosts fielding fewer English starters than their opponents, aided by an early red card for goalkeeper Mike Maignan. Meanwhile, broader statistical trends highlight the financial muscle and ongoing continental dominance of English clubs outside the elite Champions League tier.
