Carrick carrying on as normal as Man Utd eye possible replacements

Michael Carrick is set to lead Manchester United for the upcoming Bournemouth match, but the club has already begun scouting potential successors. Eddie Howe, Antonio Conte and Julian Nagelsmann are reported to be among the names being considered for the Old Trafford role.

The search follows a 4-1 loss to Italian side Como, after which captain Bruno Fernandes publicly questioned Carrick’s tactical approach. United have given players Thursday off and are arranging a Friday news conference ahead of the Bournemouth fixture, while senior figures warn that frequent managerial changes have not halted the club’s decline.

Despite the uncertainty, some observers note Carrick’s 12 wins from 17 games and a Champions League qualification last season as reasons to give him more time.
