Former President Donald Trump has withdrawn from plans to attend Saturday’s highly anticipated Alabama-Georgia football showdown in Tuscaloosa, citing the impending threat of Hurricane Isaias. The storm, expected to make landfall near the Florida Panhandle on Friday night, has already disrupted the college football schedule, prompting kickoff-time adjustments for six games and the outright cancellation of another.
Trump had previously announced his intention to watch the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs clash, marking what would have been his third visit to Bryant-Denny Stadium since 2019. His last appearances included Alabama’s 41-34 victory over Georgia in September 2024 and a 46-41 loss to LSU in 2019, with his most recent university engagement being a commencement address in May 2025.
The game remains scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC, featuring two undefeated SEC rivals ranked No.
2 (Georgia) and No. 6 (Alabama), each with national championship aspirations.
The teams last met in a dramatic SEC Championship Game, where Georgia’s 28-7 win followed Alabama’s 24-21 regular-season victory in Athens.
