Dan Lanning's Chip Kelly Warning Ahead of Autzen Stadium Return

Oregon head coach Dan Lanning cautioned his players that Chip Kelly’s revamped Northwestern offense could pose fresh challenges when the Ducks return to Autzen Stadium. Lanning noted that Kelly blends familiar concepts from his Oregon days with new wrinkles tailored to Northwestern’s current personnel, creating a mix that feels like “three different offenses.”

Northwestern, now 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the Big Ten, ranks second in the conference with 204.6 rushing yards per game and third in scoring at 34.7 points per game. Oregon sits at 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the league, and will have to adjust in real time to Kelly’s evolving schemes.
