Oregon head coach Dan Lanning addressed the controversial Week 4 hit by linebacker Desman Stephens that injured quarterback Dante Moore, noting that rule enforcement exists to protect players. While Stephens faced an ejection and a one-game suspension for targeting during the scramble, Lanning stated that he was focused on his own team rather than the opponent's celebration on the field.
He added that the incident served as a motivating turning point for his squad. Backup Dylan Raiola stepped in for Moore, throwing for 289 yards and two scores to secure a 41-27 victory.
Lanning confirmed that Moore is not sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.
