Dan Campbell: We were "very much in on" Joey Porter Jr.

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell acknowledged during a media session that his organization heavily pursued cornerback Joey Porter Jr. prior to his acquisition by the Dallas Cowboys.

Porter ultimately moved from the Pittsburgh Steelers to Dallas in exchange for two draft choices. Campbell noted that various factors must align for a transaction to succeed, and the Cowboys successfully finalized the agreement first.

The Lions actively seek secondary reinforcement following the departure of Terrion Arnold and may continue exploring defensive back additions ahead of the trade deadline.
