CU Buff Alum Accuses Deion Sanders of Ignoring His Son to Eliminate Competition for Shedeur: “Never Practiced With Anybody”

Former Colorado linebacker Michael Jones has publicly claimed that Deion Sanders systematically removed other quarterback options to ensure his son, Shedeur Sanders, faced no internal challenges during his development. Jones, whose son Jalon previously played for Sanders at Jackson State, alleges that Shedeur never competed against other starters until reaching the NFL.

Jalon Jones started five games for Jackson State in 2021 before being benched for Quincy Casey and eventually transferring. Diego Pavia also noted that when he was recruited by Sanders, the coach was upfront about the lack of an open competition for the starting role.
