Chennai Super Kings have initiated a sweeping overhaul of their coaching staff ahead of the 2027 season by parting ways with batting instructor Mike Hussey, bowling mentor Eric Simons, assistant Rajiv Kumar, and fielding specialist James Foster. This massive shake-up follows a string of underwhelming league campaigns where the five-time tournament winners slipped to fifth, tenth, and eighth positions respectively after securing the championship in 2023.
In response to these struggles, the franchise also parted ways with longtime head coach Stephen Fleming, installing Zaheer Khan as his successor while bringing in Mohit Sharma to take over the bowling duties from Simons.
