Cricket South Africa revealed a massive financial deficit of R440 million covering the 2025/26 financial period during their Annual General Meeting held in Johannesburg. Chief Executive Pholetsi Moseki pointed to shifting broadcast markets and a sparse home fixture list featuring only three T20 Internationals for the men's national side as key drivers behind the shortfall.
Despite these economic hurdles, board leadership remains fully assured regarding the upcoming 2027 global showcase, having established an autonomous entity to oversee tournament preparations and committed over R300 million toward stadium enhancements across eight local host municipalities.
