The Nebraska athletic department enjoyed a dominant weekend across multiple athletic programs. The football team secured a 31-13 victory on the road against Michigan State at Spartan Stadium, advancing their record to 4-0 for the first time in a decade and capturing their first conference-opening win since 2019 while ending a 14-year drought in East Lansing under coach Matt Rhule.
Meanwhile, the top-ranked volleyball squad began conference competition by sweeping Rutgers at John Cook Arena and later defeated Ohio State, bolstered by stellar performances from Andi Jackson, Harper Murray, Sigler, and Pierce. Additionally, the rifle program opened its season by defeating Akron with a score of 4743-4673.
