Contreras cryptic when asked what changed for Red Sox in early playoff exit

Following an early postseason exit, Red Sox catcher Willson Contreras offered tight-lipped responses when questioned about his team's sudden drop-off after a dominant stretch earlier in the summer where they won thirty-two of thirty-seven games between June 25 and August 8. While he expressed pride in that regular season turnaround, he admitted the group failed to execute or produce when it mattered most.

Contreras also pointedly withheld his opinion on the controversial decision to pull pitcher Sonny Gray before he could face the Yankees lineup a third time, emphasizing that analytics alone cannot replace on-field experience and execution.
