College football AP Top 25 rankings 2026: Voter reveals Week 8 ballot

Following a chaotic weekend where five of the seven highest-ranked teams suffered defeats, AP voter Brett McMurphy has provided an early look at his updated ballot. Miami has ascended to the top position after a narrow double-overtime victory against Florida State, while BYU moved into the second spot following a win over Notre Dame.

The rankings also saw Oklahoma State, Missouri, and Mississippi State drop out, replaced by Northwestern, Florida, and New Mexico. The official poll is scheduled for release on the afternoon of October 11.
