Deion Sanders, Colorado nearly upset No. 11 Utah

Colorado suffered its fourth consecutive defeat this weekend, falling 27-24 to Utah. Despite trailing 13-0 early, the Buffaloes rallied with 17 unanswered points in the third quarter to briefly take the lead.

The game concluded with a failed Hail Mary attempt, complicated by a late gain that was overturned after officials ruled a lateral was actually an illegal forward pass. Head coach Deion Sanders praised his team's resilience despite the loss, which came against a Utah squad currently riding a 12-game winning streak.

Since the conclusion of the 2024 season, Colorado has struggled to a 2-14 record against Power Five opponents, and Sanders has secured only two victories over ranked programs during his tenure.
