The Kansas City Chiefs are pursuing a reunion with free agent wide receiver Tyreek Hill. The franchise has contacted Hill's representative, Drew Rosenhaus, to convey its interest. Hill is currently aiming for a return to game action in November.
The push to acquire Hill comes amid notable injuries within Kansas City's receiving corps. Tyquan Thornton sustained a dislocated ankle that has sidelined him indefinitely.
Following Thornton's injury, Hill posted "hm" on Twitter. Additionally, Rashee Rice is dealing with a hamstring strain that could keep him off the field for multiple weeks.
Despite these setbacks, Kansas City secured a 30-27 victory on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4, entering Week 5 as the sole undefeated squad in the AFC.
Hill's former teammates have actively addressed the possibility of his return. Travis Kelce remarked, "That’s out of my hands, but I know I’d love to have ‘The Cheetah’ back in this building." Patrick Mahomes stated, "I have no idea (if that would happen), but it’d be pretty cool." Chris Jones also voiced his support, saying, "I hope we do.
It’d be dangerous. .
. .
Dangerous!"
Rosenhaus revealed that Hill plans to begin negotiations with teams about a contract. "I would anticipate Tyreek potentially signing with a team over the next few days," Rosenhaus said.
The 32-year-old wide receiver entered the league as a fifth-round draft selection in 2016. He spent the initial six years of his NFL career with the Chiefs under head coach Andy Reid, making the Pro Bowl in every season, earning first-team All-Pro honors three times, and helping the Chiefs claim the first of three Super Bowl titles under Reid.
Prior to the 2022 campaign, Kansas City traded Hill to Miami, where he spent four years. Hill posted an NFL-leading 1,799 receiving yards during the 2023 season and played through a wrist injury in 2024.
In 2025, Hill sustained a knee dislocation and multiple torn ligaments, including an ACL. That injury caused him to miss Miami's final 13 contests.
