Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was identified in court as one of several investors defrauded in a multimillion-dollar Ponzi operation, according to reporting originating from St. Louis television station KMOV.
Prosecutors formally brought forward Kelce's name during legal proceedings, though they withheld specific figures regarding the precise sums he had committed to the fraudulent enterprise.
The illicit arrangement led to a prison sentence for a financial adviser involved in the operation. Among the central figures tied to the matter is 38-year-old Jawahar, a co-founder and managing partner of Texas-based Swiftarc Capital, an entity that counted Kelce among its clients.
