Kansas City Royals catcher Carter Jensen closed out his rookie campaign in stellar fashion by securing both American League Rookie of the Month and Player of the Month accolades for September. During twenty games, he batted .338 with an OPS of 1.194, launching eight home runs and pacing the entire league in doubles, extra-base hits, and slugging percentage.
This marks the second consecutive month a Kansas City hitter claimed the monthly American League honor, following Jac Caglianone's success in August. Jensen finishes his debut season with twenty-seven home runs and eighty-one runs batted in, trailing only Danny Tartabull for the franchise record in September OPS.
