Breaking down Man Utd's tactics after Fernandes' criticism

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes expressed doubt regarding the team's tactical setup after a 4-1 Champions League loss to Como. He noted that the squad failed to apply pressure on the ball and allowed the opposition too much space, which boosted the opponent's confidence.

Manager Michael Carrick's preferred zonal 4-2-4 or 4-4-2 defensive structures have struggled this season. While this approach helped secure a 3-2 victory over Arsenal in January, with a goal from Bryan Mbeumo, it has become less effective as other teams have adapted.

Defender Lisandro Martinez also suggested that failing to evolve tactics leads to problems, citing a 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid.
