Tampa Bay has added quarterback Brett Rypien to their developmental squad following a tryout earlier in the week. The organization made this roster adjustment while managing an injury to starter Baker Mayfield, who faces at least a three-week recovery period due to a thumb dislocation on his throwing hand.
To fill the active void for the upcoming matchup against Green Bay, rookie Jalon Daniels is slated to get the nod under center. Additionally, Easton Stick is anticipated to join the main roster to provide depth behind Daniels from the sideline.
This latest stop marks another chapter for Rypien, whose NFL journey has included stints with numerous organizations and game experience across three different franchises, accumulating a balanced record in his starting appearances. The signal-caller brings familiarity with Tampa Bay's offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, having previously worked alongside him during their time with Los Angeles.
Football lineage also runs in the family for Rypien, as his uncle previously earned Super Bowl MVP honors.
