During Game 2 of the NL wild card series, postseason drama erupted late at Truist Field as the Atlanta Phillies and Atlanta Braves locked horns. Tyler Mahle and Cristopher Sánchez engaged in an intense pitching duel before defensive miscues and clutch hitting completely altered the trajectory of the contest.
In the bottom of the seventh inning with runners occupying first and second, Bryce Harper misplayed a flyball from Drake Baldwin, allowing Sean Murphy to score an RBI double. Matt Olson followed with a sacrifice fly to extend the lead, but Harper quickly redeemed himself in the eighth by launching a game-tying home run immediately after Kyle Schwarber went deep.
