British Cycling to act after 'toxic' survey responses

British Cycling has announced plans to address concerns raised in a confidential survey of its World Class Programme, which revealed significant issues among riders and support staff. The survey, commissioned by UK Sport and conducted by an independent firm earlier this year, highlighted a decline in morale and described the programme’s culture as 'toxic' in some responses.

While the majority of participants expressed satisfaction with their roles and rated the programme favorably, the feedback prompted the creation of an action plan focused on leadership, staff development, and wellbeing improvements. UK Sport has acknowledged the initiative and pledged support for the changes being implemented across British Cycling’s operations.
