Boston College flips in-state 2027 QB Will Wood from Penn State

In-state recruit Will Wood, a top-rated quarterback from Xaverian Brothers (Mass.), has chosen Boston College over Penn State in his 2027 commitment. Ranked as the nation’s No.

30 quarterback by Rivals, Wood cited proximity to home and the coaching vision of Bill O’Brien as key factors in his decision. Though he initially considered Penn State, Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Stanford, Wood ultimately felt BC aligned best with his long-term goals.

The Eagles now boast 29 commits in the upcoming class, adding another piece to O’Brien’s rebuilding project. Wood praised O’Brien’s NFL and college resume, emphasizing his track record of developing quarterbacks at elite levels.

He also expressed gratitude to Penn State’s staff and fanbase, acknowledging their support despite his departure.
