Eugenio Chacarra capped off a dominant weekend in India by winning the DP World India Championship for the third time this season, propelling him to the top of the Race to Dubai standings. The 26-year-old Spaniard, who now leads the tour’s official money list, secured his PGA Tour exemption for next year with his latest victory at Delhi Golf Club.
Chacarra’s rise has been fueled in part by his brief but impactful tenure with LIV Golf, where he claimed his first professional win in Bangkok in 2022—finishing three shots ahead of Patrick Reed in the process. Though he left the league after 2024, Chacarra has expressed gratitude for the opportunities LIV provided, crediting it with accelerating his career by offering financial stability, elite support, and global exposure.
His focus now shifts to the Genesis Championship next week, where he’ll aim to further extend his lead over Reed and Rory McIlroy while chasing a spot in the 2025 Masters, his first appearance in the tournament. Chacarra remains confident in his ability to contend in majors, having already competed in three of the four this past season, including his debut at last year’s Open Championship.
