Bangladesh is mapping out a six-year strategy to elevate its national volleyball programs following recent international success, highlighted by the men securing silver at the 2026 Central Asian Volleyball Association championship and the women capturing bronze at the 2025 regional tournament. To discuss this multi-year roadmap, M A Latif Shahrear Zahedee traveled to Switzerland for meetings with international sports officials.
During the discussions in Lausanne, the volleyball federation leader met with a delegation including Fabio Azevedo, Steve Tutton, and Hitesh Malhotra. The talks centered on expanding technical support and building on previous investments totaling 139,000 dollars from a global empowerment initiative, which has already delivered equipment and coaching aid.
Officials also reviewed grassroots growth, noting that volleyball holds priority status within the national educational curriculum to help nurture future athletes.
