Austin Smotherman secured his second victory in less than a month by winning the Butterfield Bermuda Championship in a Monday playoff. After high winds forced the cancellation of the final round, Smotherman and Seamus Power finished regulation tied at 16-under par.
Smotherman ultimately prevailed on the third extra hole to claim a $1,080,000 prize.
His success was driven by a strong all-around performance, including a 72.22% greens in regulation rate and an 80% scrambling success rate. He utilized a Titleist GT3 driver and T100 irons to navigate the challenging coastal conditions, ranking seventh in strokes gained off the tee and tenth in strokes gained approach.
