Led by first-year manager Alex Golesh, the Auburn Tigers broke a nearly two-year conference home losing skid by defeating the Vanderbilt Commodores twenty-one to fifteen on Saturday. Signal-caller Byrum Brown accounted for a pair of scores, throwing for one touchdown and running for another, while Omar Mabson blocked a punt that Cade Carlson returned all the way for a defensive touchdown.
The Auburn defensive unit heavily disrupted Vanderbilt freshman quarterback Jared Curtis and drastically cut down on pre-snap penalties and missed tackles to secure the victory. Following this bounce-back performance at home, the Tigers will travel to face the Tennessee Volunteers next weekend.
