The Atlanta Dream will relocate to State Farm Arena for the 2027 WNBA season, marking a return to the venue after a seven-year absence. The team announced a multi-year agreement to host all 25 of its home games there, aligning with the league’s expansion to a 50-game schedule.
The move follows three consecutive sellout seasons at Gateway Center Arena, which seats around 3,500, while State Farm Arena’s capacity exceeds 17,000. The Dream have already played multiple games at State Farm this season, including six regular-season matches and two playoff games, with eight sellouts and multiple full-capacity crowds.
Team leadership cited the venue’s energy and fan engagement as key factors, noting that even non-playoff games there felt like high-stakes contests. The decision also reflects the team’s growth, including the impact of star player Angel Reese, whose arrival strengthened the franchise’s appeal and readiness for a larger arena.
Additionally, the Dream are exploring plans for a dedicated women’s sports facility in Atlanta in the future, underscoring their long-term investment in the city’s basketball landscape.
