Astros vs. White Sox ALWC Game 1 Discussion Thread: 9/29/2026

The Houston Astros are hosting the Chicago White Sox for the opening game of the American League Wild Card Series today. In a rare postseason pitching matchup, rookie relief pitchers AJ Blubaugh and Hagen Smith will take the mound for their respective clubs.

This marks only the second instance in playoff history where both starting pitchers entered the contest with three or fewer career starts. Peacock will exclusively televise the series, featuring a broadcast crew of Tom McCarthy, Geoff Blum, Steve Stone, Adam Ottavino, and Britney Eurton.
