Asian Games, women's badminton: Sindhu-led India’s run ends in quarters

India exited the women's team badminton tournament at the Asian Games following a 1-3 quarter-final loss against the host nation at the Ichinomiya City Municipal Gymnasium on Tuesday. PV Sindhu started strong by capturing the opening game against Akane Yamaguchi, but the Japanese opponent rallied through the subsequent frames to seal that initial rubber.

Although Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand kept the visitors' hopes alive by defeating Yuki Fukushima and Mayu Matsumoto, subsequent defeats for Unnati Hooda against Tomoka Miyazaki and Tanvi Sharma against Nozomi Okuhara cemented the final outcome.
