Asian Games: Suruchi, Kamaljeet bag a redemption gold, men’s 3P take team silver

Following a devastating 15th-place finish in the 10m women’s air pistol qualification that shattered her confidence, Suruchi bounced back at the Asian Games. Partnering with Kamaljeet after he stepped into the lineup, she helped secure a redemption gold medal in the mixed team 10m air pistol event at the Aichi Prefecture General Shooting Gallery.

The duo dominated the competition by setting a Games record score of 587 in qualifying and later breaking the Asian record with a final tally of 484.6 points. Their victory marked the first shooting gold for the Indian contingent at the ongoing games in Nagoya, Japan, aided by guidance from coach Samaresh Jung after earlier team struggles.
