At the Asian Games, newcomer Neeraj Chauhan pulled off a major surprise by defeating South Korean triple Olympic medallist Kim Je-deok in the men's individual recurve event to reach the quarter-finals. Alongside Chauhan, fellow Indian archers Dhiraj Bommadevara and 17-year-old Kumkum Mohod also secured their places in the last eight following decisive wins in their respective elimination rounds.
Meanwhile, Kirti exited the competition after falling to Kang Chae-young.
