Asian Games 2026: Bangladesh suffer washout against Malaysia, advance to the quarter finals

Bangladesh secured a spot in the upcoming men's cricket semi-finals of the 2026 Asian Games following a weather-abandoned quarter-final against Malaysia on September 29, 2026. Because rain forced the cancellation of all four quarter-final fixtures at Kōrogi Sports Park in Nisshin, higher seeding allowed Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to advance safely alongside other qualified teams.

Bangladesh will now meet Pakistan on October 1, 2026, while Sri Lanka prepares to face India in the other semi-final encounter. Having previously earned bronze at the 2023 Games and a gold medal back in 2010, the Bangladeshi squad aims to secure another podium finish during the medal matches scheduled for October 3, 2026.
