Arsenal dumped out of Carabao Cup by League Two Fleetwood

Fleetwood Town secured a historic upset in the Carabao Cup by eliminating Arsenal on penalties following a 1-1 draw. Aaron Loupalo-Bi opened the scoring for the visitors before Viktor Gyokeres equalized for the Premier League side, who finished the match with ten men after Max Dowman was dismissed.

The contest saw a seven-minute delay early on due to an unauthorized drone and concluded with Conor Haughey netting the decisive spot-kick after Bruno Guimaraes had his attempt stopped by Jay Lynch. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta opted for Illan Meslier in goal for his debut, but the team ultimately fell 5-3 in the shootout.
