Around the Empire: Three-year extension confirmed for pitching coach Matt Blake

The New York Yankees have secured pitching coach Matt Blake for three additional seasons. Blake, who oversaw a league-leading 3.23 ERA, has been instrumental in the development of players like Cam Schlittler, Brent Headrick, and Paul Blackburn.

Meanwhile, the organization is losing Triple-A pitching coach Spencer Medick, who is departing to become the major league director of pitching for the Houston Astros. Additionally, the team faces roster uncertainty at third base, with Ryan McMahon, Amed Rosario, and Caballero currently in the mix, while potential external options include Eugenio Suarez, Isaac Paredes, Alec Bohm, and Bo Bichette.
