Arizona Diamondbacks News, 10/19: Tampa teeters on brink

The Tampa Bay Rays are on the verge of history after clinching a 3-1 victory in Game 5 of the American League Championship Series, putting them one win away from reaching the World Series for the first time in franchise history. The win, which gave the Rays a commanding 3-2 series lead, was marked by a dominant performance that left Cleveland Guardians manager Stephen Vogt emphasizing the need for a strong rebound in Game 6.

Meanwhile, the Arizona Diamondbacks are looking ahead to next season, with left-hander Brandyn Garcia among a group of young players poised to take on larger roles as veterans depart. The Rays’ dugout stability, featuring manager Kevin Cash and hitting coach Matt Mottola—both among the longest-tenured coaches in MLB—has been a key factor in their postseason success.

Elsewhere, Diamondbacks prospect Patrick Forbes discussed his development in the Arizona Fall League and his pitching arsenal, offering a glimpse into the team’s future talent pipeline.
