Arizona Diamondbacks News 10/13

Arizona is evaluating two prospects for potential 2027 roles. Gerardo Carrillo, a right-handed pitcher who debuted at age 27, showed promise with a scoreless streak after his initial outing, though he must improve his control after issuing 16 walks in 17 1/3 innings.

Meanwhile, first base prospect Manuel Pena displayed significant power by hitting 31 home runs across Double-A and Triple-A, though he needs to refine his approach to reduce his 119 strikeouts. Elsewhere in the postseason, the Guardians secured a 7-3 comeback victory over the Rays in the ALCS opener, and the Brewers have taken a lead in their NLCS series against the Dodgers.

Additionally, MLB teams are increasingly utilizing the automated ball-strike challenge system during the playoffs.
