Antonelli wins in US but has to wait to secure title

Kimi Antonelli cruised to a dominant victory at the United States Grand Prix, finishing sixteen seconds ahead of Charles Leclerc to extend his championship advantage. Max Verstappen claimed a podium finish in third, while Mercedes teammate George Russell ended up eighth following a five-second penalty, and Lewis Hamilton took fourth place.

Antonelli now holds a commanding lead of 123 points over Russell in the standings with upcoming races remaining. The Italian driver executed a successful one-stop strategy using medium tyres, capitalising on a strong start that left him clear of the early battles.

He can now secure the world title next weekend in Mexico City as long as he avoids losing substantial ground to his remaining mathematical challengers.
