The Los Angeles Angels have opted not to renew Kurt Suzuki's contract for the 2027 season. This move follows a historic low for the franchise, as the team finished the 2026 campaign with a 62-100 record, their first season with 100 losses.
Suzuki, a former catcher who played 16 years in the league and finished his playing career with the team in 2022, spent two years as a special assistant to the general manager before taking the helm. During his single year as manager, the club struggled significantly, posting the second-worst record in all of Major League Baseball and the worst in the American League.
