Alabama Gets Surprising AP, Coaches Poll Rankings After Loss to Georgia

The Alabama Crimson Tide defied expectations after their 20-17 loss to Georgia in a hard-fought SEC clash, holding steady in the latest national rankings. Despite the narrow defeat, Alabama remained at No.

6 in the AP Top 25 and No. 7 in the Coaches Poll, showing voters’ confidence in Kalen DeBoer’s team.

The Bulldogs, meanwhile, seized the top spot in both polls after their 6-0 start, with overwhelming first-place support in the AP (66 of 70) and Coaches Poll (60 of 70). Alabama’s resilience was further highlighted by other SEC teams’ struggles, as Texas and LSU both dropped significantly following weekend losses, leaving the Crimson Tide as one of the few unscathed programs in the top seven.

Their next challenge comes October 17, when they travel to Knoxville to face the Volunteers in a critical SEC matchup with playoff implications on the line.
