Alabama holds a commanding thirty-five to ten advantage over South Carolina heading into the intermission following a dominant offensive surge. After conceding a long run and enduring a quick three-and-out on their opening possessions, the Crimson Tide responded by finding the end zone on four consecutive offensive series.
Quarterback Keelon Russell orchestrated the aerial assault by connecting with Lotzeirr Brooks on a seventy-yard touchdown, finding Ryan Coleman-Williams for two consecutive scoring receptions, and hitting Josh Ford for a remarkable one-handed grab in the back corner of the end zone. Ground contributions from EJ Crowell and Trae'Shawn Brown added further explosive yardage for the hosts.
Defensively, Alabama weathered early struggles by stiffening when pressured and capitalizing on a pick-six interception returned by Red Morgan. The sole major blemish for the defense before halftime came when Dijon Lee stumbled near the conclusion of the second quarter, allowing an uncontested scoring play for the visitors.
Despite that defensive lapse, the thirty-five point output marks the most prolific opening half of offense during Kalen DeBoer's tenure.
