AL Wild Card Series Game 2: Max Fried vs. Sonny Gray

Max Fried prepares to take the ball for the New York Yankees in Game 2 of the American League Wild Card Series after teammate Cam Schlittler propelled the club to an opening victory over the Boston Red Sox. Ben Rice powered the initial win with four hits, two home runs, and six runs batted in.

Fried will pitch on seven days of rest, aiming to replicate his strong scoreless outing from the previous postseason against Boston. Sonny Gray gets the nod for the Red Sox with his team facing elimination, bringing a league-leading 18 victories and a 2.72 ERA into the crucial matchup.
