Again? Inside the Minnesota Lynx's latest playoff heartbreak and what went wrong

The Minnesota Lynx suffered another disappointing postseason exit on Tuesday, September 29, falling 87-71 to the New York Liberty in Game 2. Despite securing the top overall seed with a 33-11 record and the 2026 Coach of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors, the Lynx were swept in the opening round, becoming the first top seed to lose to an eighth seed since the 2016 playoff format change.

Head coach Cheryl Reeve and star player Napheesa Collier expressed their frustration over the ongoing championship drought following the loss.
