Analyst Aakash Chopra has advised the Indian team management to exclude Naman Dhir from the playing eleven for the upcoming second one-day international against West Indies. Chopra pointed out that the twenty-six-year-old is merely a part-time bowling option whose utility drops significantly under heavy evening dew at the venue.
Instead, he believes Mohammed Siraj should return to the side to ensure full-fledged bowling depth.
Dhir recently made his debut appearance during the series opener in Thiruvananthapuram, where he bowled five overs yielding thirty-three runs without claiming a wicket while remaining unused with the bat during an eight-wicket victory. The second fixture is scheduled for September thirty in Guwahati, where evening moisture makes the outcome of the pre-match coin toss unpredictable.
