5 India ODI squad players unavailable due to Asian Games

The Indian Selection Committee revealed a fifteen-player one day international roster for their upcoming home series against West Indies, scheduled to begin on September 27. However, overlapping dates with the continental multi-sport event in Japan mean five senior team members will miss the matches while representing the nation abroad.

VVS Laxman will manage the touring squad to Aichi-Nagoya, with Shubman Gill taking over the one day captaincy for the home fixtures. Nitish Kumar Reddy was pulled from the regional games contingent to participate in the domestic series alongside debutants Naman Dhir and Auqib Nabi.

Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, and Ishan Kishan comprise the five athletes sidelined from the West Indies matches due to their overseas tournament duties.
