49ers make a change to the practice squad; try out Dante Pettis and Jerry Rice’s son

The San Francisco 49ers made roster adjustments by parting ways with defensive lineman Vincent Anthony Jr. from their practice squad following the addition of Matthew Judon.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan noted that Judon participated in a weekend workout and will integrate into individual drills to evaluate his conditioning and grasp of the playbook. In addition, the organization evaluated several free agents on the transaction wire, including quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who likely served as a passer for the workout participants.

The wide receiver evaluations featured Dante Pettis, Malik Turner, Quentin Skinner, and Brenden Rice, who is the son of Hall of Famer Jerry Rice. Defensive back tryouts included Cobee Bryant, Corey Ballentine, and Sam Webb.
